1. Who is eligible for the Promise @ San Jac Scholarship?
   The scholarship is available to students who live in the San Jacinto College taxing district at the time of high school graduation. This includes graduates from specific in-district high schools, as well as private and homeschool students living in the district.
2. What is a last-dollar scholarship?
   A last-dollar scholarship covers the remaining tuition and fees after all other financial aid and scholarships have been applied.
3. How long will the scholarship provide financial support?
   The scholarship provides support for up to three years, or until the completion of an Associate Degree or the maximum of 72 credit hours, whichever comes first.
4. Is there a limit to books and supplies covered by the scholarship? and how do students use Promise funds to buy books and supplies?
   The scholarship covers books and required supplies up to $600. Students can use Promise funds through a bookstore stipend or credit.
5. Is there a minimum or maximum number of credit hours a student can take in a semester?
   Students must enroll in a minimum of 12 credit hours each fall and spring semester. Those in college preparatory courses must enroll in at least 11 credit hours. Exceptions can be made in the final semester or under certain circumstances.
6. What if a student fails or drops a class?
   Failing or dropping a class may affect the student's eligibility for the scholarship and could make the student financially responsible for additional fees. Students should consult the Promise Program Coordinators if this occurs to understand the impact on their scholarship and explore available options.
7. Can Promise Scholars take classes online or attend multiple campuses?
   Yes, Promise Scholars can take online classes and attend multiple campuses within the San Jacinto College system.
8. Does the scholarship cover winter and summer minis or part-of-term courses, like eight-week terms?
   The scholarship does not cover the winter or immediate summer term following high school graduation but can be used for subsequent winter and summer semesters, including part-of-term courses such as eight-week terms.
