Adult Education and Literacy

Our Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) programs help adults build skills in reading, writing, math, and English while preparing for the workforce, a high school credential, or college and career training. Opportunities include:

Aerospace

From drones to space stations, San Jacinto College's aerospace program offers multiple ways to advance your career with technical certificates. Applied Trades

Hands-on jobs require hands-on training. You can't learn to drive without ever getting behind the wheel. You can't learn to repair diesel engines without ever popping the hood. Our courses in Applied Trades will hone your skills in welding, truck driving, pipefitting, and HVAC with hands-on learning and training, all while following industry-recognized standards.

Biotechnology

As the lone provider of NIBRT-licensed training in the southern United States, we are here to provide new biomanufacturing professionals with the skills needed for a seamless transition to the workforce.

Health Occupations

With Houston being home to what is known as one of the best medical communities in the world, we know our healthcare workers and employers are looking to stay at the top of their game. Kick-start your career with our Certified Nurse Aide Training, prep for your HESI A2 Test , or set yourself up for success to work in a medical office in our Medical Office Professional course.

IT Tech and Advanced Manufacturing

Whether you’re new to computers, pursuing Microsoft certification, learning QuickBooks, or training in cybersecurity, we have a course for you. We also offer hands-on industry certifications in advanced manufacturing, including fiber optics, machining, and industrial automation.

Life Long Learning

Dive into a new hobby or skill here at San Jacinto College. Our Lifelong Learning program has a full range of non-credit courses that are perfect for personal development or to take just for fun.

Maritime

Earning your sea legs requires hands-on experience on ships ranging from inland towboats to the world’s largest ships. Our programs offer more than 50 courses approved by the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG), each following internationally recognized Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping. Continuing education: What You Need to Know

Enroll Anytime

Enroll in our classes year round. Whether it’s a one day workshop, a one week course, or a month or more, you can register online, in person, or by email. Be sure to register early, some classes fill up quickly.

Financial Aid and Grants

Our financial aid and grants can help cover the cost of your classes and make career and job training more affordable. Unlike loans, these grants do not need to be repaid and are awarded based on financial need.

Your Career Edge

Continuing Education (CE) classes teach you the job skills you need to advance your career.

Your Next Hobby

Dive into a new hobby or fun activity with classes on painting, cake decorating, and pottery.

Pay When Your Register

You must pay for your class on the same day you register, or you will be unenrolled.

Linked courses are a great flexible option! You can take a continuing education course, then later you can apply the course to your degree or certificate. It's helpful if you're not sure you want to pursue a degree or certificate, but want to get started with a class. There are a couple of things to know. Enrollment in linked courses is limited, you are exempt from taking the TSI assessment, and courses adhere to the CPD refund policy.

Register for your course online. Each course schedule will only show available classes in that instructional area. Begin the registration process by selecting the course schedule that interests you.
