Getting and Keeping Your Benefits
Now that you’ve been accepted, there are some steps you need to take to make sure
you receive your VA benefits. It’s important you’re on time with your requests for
certification of benefits and advising. If you ever need assistance, contact us!
Certification of Benefits Requests A new Certification of Benefits request is required each semester. Use the certification request form to upload mandatory documents to certify and ensure you receive your VA education
benefits.
Request certification early. It can take up to 10 working days to process requests.
You must have activated your SOS account (student ID# required) to submit a certification request.
Go to the “Certification Request Form” button below and use your SOS network access
credentials.
Submit all required documents in one submission. Any requests with missing documents
will be returned incomplete.
Submit a request every semester.
Register early for classes.
Request certification early. It can take up to 10 working days to process requests.
If your registration changes, update your certification request immediately.
Check your balances in the My San Jac dashboard for fees and tuition not covered by benefits.

After you register for classes, you'll need to submit your documents through the
online certification. SOS network access login and password to complete the form.
Submit Your Joint Service Transcript and All College Transcripts (JST)
The JST provides a description of military schooling and work history in a way that
civilian schools can understand. When you complete a military school or training,
you may earn college credit hours toward your degree. All transcripts are required before certification.
U.S. Air Force Veteran Students
U.S. Air Force veteran students will need to request their Community College of the
Air Force (CCAF) transcript. You can order your CCAF transcript throughParchment, or visit the CCAF website for more options.
