Yes. The program includes a supervised clinical practicum. You’ll get real-world experience
in a healthcare setting. An experienced pro will be there to help guide you.
Clinicals are unpaid positions where you are supervised by a health information technology
professional at a health care center. Your clinicals are scheduled during the day
based on the availability of the site supervisor. The program cannot guarantee a specific
site, but every effort will be made to accommodate you. You are responsible for your
own transportation to and from the clinical site.

The Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM) has accredited the San Jacinto College Health Information Technology Associate of Applied Science degree. This accreditation is reaffirmed through 2029.
