Technical Degree
The Associate of Applied Science degree provides current firefighters with additional fire-related education and certification opportunities to help you advance your career.This degree is for academy graduates and current firefighters and provides additional fire-related education and certification opportunities.
Length 2 Years
If you're studying full-time, you can complete the 60 credits for this program in five terms, including a summer term.

Firefighting, Certificate of Technology (Firefighter Training Academy)

Certificate
The firefighter training academy qualifies you for an entry-level firefighter position. This firefighter training academy program prepares students to take the Texas Commission on Fire Protection Basic Suppression Exam, which certifies you for entry-level firefighter positions statewide.
Length 6 Months
If you're studying full-time, you can complete the 24 credits for this certificate in two terms.

Each year, this program invites San Jacinto College employees to suit up and feel the burn at the La Porte Fire Training Facility, where College cadets practice searching, rescuing, and controlling fires.
