Hybrid-Approach

Time is valuable, and with our hybrid-approach to learning, we're able to maximize your employees' time spent between theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience. Content can be delivered through a combination of web-based and classroom training modules. These courses combine work in the Blackboard learning management system with classroom time. On-campus classroom time is required.

Your Exclusive Training Provider

Offering globally trusted NIBRT-licensed training

San Jacinto College has partnered with the National Institute for Bioprocessing Research and Training (NIBRT), making San Jac the exclusive provider of NIBRT-licensed training in the southern part of the United States. The training program offers regional biomanufacturing training for trainees quickly, safely, and for a lower cost. 

San Jac is a key member of the NIBRT Global Partner Programme, including partners across four continents. The program supports an international alliance of leading training and education organizations to help address the global shortage of a skilled biopharma workforce. Through NIBRT's program, qualified organizations are enabled to license NIBRT’s expertise, curriculum and intellectual property to provide biomanufacturing training and education capability in their region.

Take Your Pick

The Biomanufacturing Training Program's Spring 2024 Short Courses range from 1-day to 1-week long. Send your trainees over to San Jac's South Campus to sharpen up their skills. Prices include course materials, refreshments and lunch.

Cost: $750 for up to 10 trainees

Theory-based, 1-day course offered both online and face-to-face 

  • Introduction to biopharmaceuticals and bioprocessing
  • Overview of upstream processing
  • Introduction to downstream processing
  • Introduction to fill finish or facility design or introduction to cell/gene therapy
  • Interactive tour of NIBRT facility and/or the San Jac Center for Biotechnology
    • Contamination control, regulatory overview, or cleanroom disciplines and owning

Cost: $750 for up to 10 trainees

Theory-based, 1-day offered both online and face-to-face

  • Introduction to biopharmaceutical processing
  • Cleanroom classification, design and control
  • Environmental monitoring
  • Contamination control or regulatory overview or cleanroom disciplines and owning
  • Interactive tour of NIBRT facility and/or the San Jac Center for Biotechnology

Cost: $2,000 for up to 5 trainees; $200 for each additional trainee per day

Theory-based and hands-on training, 2-day

  • Aseptic processing (theory)
  • Cleanroom design classification and contamination control (theory)
  • Environmental monitoring (theory)
  • Sterilization and decontamination (theory)
  • Grade-B and Grade-D gowning (hands-on training)
  • Introduction to BSC (hands-on training)
  • Working in the BSC (hands-on training)
  • BSC cleaning maintenance (hands-on training)

Cost: $3,000 for up to 5 trainees; $200 for each additional trainee per day

  • Introduction to GMP and GDP (theory)
  • Aseptic work and bioburden control (theory)
  • Basic data analysis and analytical calculations (theory)
