PASADENA, Texas — San Jacinto College (SJC) eye care technology students and faculty participated in the See to Succeed program this month at the Good Neighbor Healthcare Center, delivering free screenings and examinations to students across the Houston metroplex region.
The program works to identify first-12th grade students who need eyeglasses. In the near future, SJC students will assist in the delivery and fit of the eyeglasses at the various schools. The See to Succeed program is coordinated by the Houston Department of Health and Human Services (HDHHS). Partners include San Jacinto College, University of Houston (UH) College of Optometry, Essilor Vision Foundation, Wal-Mart, Berkley Eye Center, Luxottica Group Foundation, Eye Care for Kids, and Memorial Area Assistance Ministries.
