Certified Nurse Aide
The CNA program at San Jacinto College provides students with the training, skills, knowledge and abilities to care for patients in long-term care facilities. Students learn to provide safety and preventative measures in the care of patients as well as how to function as a member of the healthcare team.
Students are trained for entry-level employment in long-term facilities, hospitals and doctor offices through classroom time and 60 hours of clinical practice.
Emergency Health
If you looking to to further your career in emergency health, San Jac's program with provide you with the certifications and training necessary.
Earn your initial certification and recertification in CPR with our CPR Healthcare Providers course or earn your state license as a paramedic with our RN to Paramedic course, offered both online and with a clinical professional.
Health Care Professional
At the most basic level of any career, it is essential to understand applicable laws, ethics, and terminology. Show up to your first day of work ahead of the game with our Medical Law/Ethics for Health Professions and Essentials Medical Terminology courses.
In this program, students will also have the opportunity to prepare for their HESI A2 Test or EKG Technician certification exam with our prep courses.
Medical Imaging
Explore your interest in the medical imaging field or fine-tune your techniques with San Jacinto College's Medical Imaging program.
Students are empowered to learn with our hands-on courses, including Clinical I & II Computed Tomography, Clinical - Mammography Technician, and Clincal I - Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
Medical Office
The Medical Office Professional program at San Jacinto College prepares students to work in a medical office setting and provides a foundation for more advanced medical records careers. Students learn to maintain medical facility records, record patient data on computers, schedule patients for their procedures and appointments, and process medical billing and insurance claims.
Foundational and practical knowledge of office procedures, medical records, medical terminology and pathology is important in careers at larger facilities like hospitals and surgical centers as well as smaller out-patient clinics and doctor’s offices.
Phlebotomy Technician
The Phlebotomy Technician program will teach students how to properly use vacuum collection devices, syringes, capillary skin puncture, butterfly needles and blood culture, and specimen collection on adults, children, and infants.
In this program, students garner work-based learning experience with direct client care. These courses enable students to apply the theory, skills and concepts learned in basic phlebotomy class in a supervised clinic or lab setting.

What are linked classes?
Students enrolled in the Continuing and Professional Development Division’s Continuing Education courses do not have to be admitted into San Jacinto College’s academic/credit side. Some Continuing Education courses are “linked” and are held in conjunction with academic/credit courses. Should a Continuing Education student complete a “linked” course and decide to enroll in a certificate or degree on the academic/credit side, they will receive credit for the “linked” course they completed. Enrollment in “linked” courses is limited and is on a space-available basis. Students enrolled in “linked” courses are TASP/THEA exempt. “Linked” courses will adhere to the stated CPD refund policy.
